Positive Visualization Getting Clear On How You Want Your Life To Be (Part 1)
So what exactly IS positive visualization? Well... here's an example:
Do you remember all the wild and crazy stories you dreamed up when you were a child? You could fly like Superman or reflect bullets with your metal arm bands like Wonder Woman! Life was exciting... because so much of it was lived inside our young minds that were full of dreams and visions.
Basically, that's what positive visualization actually is. It is more or less pretending - imagining how you'd really like your life to be like right now (not how it really is).
"Anything you may hold firmly in your imagination can be yours." ~William James
Visualizing is also the best way to understand how you can attract more prosperity into your life.
Sounds simple right? Hmmmm, well if it was, we'd all be millionaires wouldn't we? The fact is, it IS simple, but it's not easy... that's because positive visualization takes practice, something many of us don't like to do.
If you need some inspiration, think back to how you would imagine yourself to be a super hero or a fireman or a rock star. Can you get there again?
Do you even remember how to pretend? How to let your imagination run wild and dream up wonderful fantasy worlds of what you want to do, what you want to be when you "grow up?" These "fantasies" were really positive visualization techniques, although we didn't know it at the time.
The power of visualization can be truly amazing, but it's a technique that seems to elude a lot of people.
Here is a positive visualization technique to help free up your imagination. You've more than likely heard or read about this particular technique before, but give it an honest try anyway.
So, let's begin.
"If you had $100 million in your bank right now, what would you do with your life?"
Think about this carefully. A lot of people will start to write down what they want to accumulate in material possessions.
This is not what you're after. Material possessions will come to you as needed, when they are needed, but only afteryou get clear on what you want in life.
What is important right now is what you do want to DO with yourself?
What are your passions? If you could go anyplace and do anything at all because you had more than enough money to live on... what would you be DOING?
I can probably guess what your first response will be. "I'd quit my job, relax, maybe travel, but essentially, I'd want to do NOTHING."
This is a fairly typical reaction to suddenly being financially free. It's based on relief, the letting go of stress and worry on how to make a living. That's okay. Experience this relief, feel it, bask in it for a short while. Doesn't it feel really good?
However, this is also unrealistic for the long term. Can you really imagine yourself doing absolutely nothing for years and years and years? You'd be totally bored out of your mind! Your life would be completely meaningless. So, thinking of doing "nothing" is not a good use of positive visualization.
You need to move on and get to the heart of what you want really want to do. What is your dream lifestyle? What holds a lot of meaning for you that you would just love to do?
Allow Visions and Desires To Flow
Let those inspirational thoughts out. Write them down. Write whatever comes to mind. This is where the power of visualization comes into play.
Your vision of that lifestyle is the catalyst that can propel you into taking the steps toward bringing those secret passions into being. It's those passions, those desires that will begin to shape your reality.
It is those wants, those goals that will start to attract the opportunities, people, and things that you'll require to begin that journey down a new path. THIS is how positive visualization works.
Make a Positive Decision
You now have $100 million dollars in your bank account. You do not need to go back to that lousy job. You don't need to even find a job. You can live wherever you choose. And you can do anything that you desire to do (legally of course).
What inspiring thoughts come immediately to your mind? What will you do with your life? How will YOU make it meaningful?
