Mother - An Expression of Gratitude

Mother
Time has passed and I have grown The world is different but you remain the same From early days and lazy days until childhood melted away You’re my mother my shelter from life's storm How easily we forget the things we put you through and how growing up takes ages observed with a smile And we strive to become what you are and have been And we hope to find in ourselves That spark ignited by you throughout the years You’re my mother pearls of wisdom delivered with a smile Comforting words when the wind blows cold and when we lose our way, this is for you In gratitude for my childhood and a lifetime of memories and the smile I have bequeathed to my children
