Poems about friendship are a great way to understand what this special relationship really means. We all need a friend who is trustworthy; who will tell us the truth when asked, regardless of the consequences; and who won't allow petty jealousies and envy to come between the relationship.
Friendship
Dear friend, I pray thee,
Swear not to me that nothing can divide us,

Ella Wheeler Wilcox was an American author and popular poet, often expressing her sentiments of cheer and optimism through her poetry. Her best-known work was Poems of Passion, although she did write a series of books entitled "Poems of..." which featured Cheer, Experience, Optimism, Power, Progress, Purpose, and Sentiment.
