Picture of Albert Einstein

These Albert Einstein quotes reveal his deep understanding and vast knowledge of the best way to live life. Albert Einstein was not only a genius in physics and mathematics; he was a very insightful person.

A Brief History

Albert Einstein was born into a Jewish family in Ulm, Württemberg, Germany on March 14, 1879.

He became a theoretical physicist and is best known (and quoted) for his theory of relativity (a theory of gravitation) and specifically mass–energy equivalence, E = mc2 (the concept that any mass has an associated energy and vice versa).

During his lifetime, Einstein published over 300 scientific works and over 150 non-scientific works. In 1955, he died at the age of 76, when he experienced internal bleeding caused by the rupture of an aortic aneurysm.

Favorite and Inspiring Albert Einstein Quotes

Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Peace cannot be achieved through violence; it can only be attained through understanding.

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment. Full effort is full victory.

I never think of the future - it comes soon enough.

Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.

Never regard study as a duty, but as the enviable opportunity to learn; to know the liberating influence of beauty in the realm of the spirit for your own personal joy, and to the profit of the community to which your later work belongs.

A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion, to embrace all living creatures, and the whole of nature in its beauty.
